European Humanitarian Aid Commissioner going to Ukraine
KYIV. Jan 23 (Interfax) - European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides will visit Ukraine on January 26-27, the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine said.
The delegation said in a press release posted on Friday he would "discuss the emergency with the authorities in Kyiv, meet victims of the crisis in the East and reaffirm the EU's solidarity with the affected people."
Commissioner Stylianides will visit Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk and meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Hroysman.
He will go to Dnipropetrovsk on January 27 to deliver another package of humanitarian aid to refugees.
The European humanitarian aid - water canisters, reinforced canvas for urgent repair works and thermal blankets - will reach Dnipropetrovsk by two flights.
