Artillery attacks disrupt heating of 124 homes, social sites in Donetsk
MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Ongoing bombardments have disrupted heating supply to Donbas schools, hospitals and kindergartens, the city administration said on Friday.
"Eight heating stations have been disabled by artillery fire and there is no heating supply to 124 residential buildings, four hospitals, four kindergartens, five general education schools and 14 consumers of other types," the Donetsk news agency quoted the city administration as saying.
More than 100 transformer substations have been disabled alongside seven boiler houses and eight water stations in the recent bombardments, the city administration continued.
"There is hot tap water in homes in the Kuibyshevskyi, Kirovskyi, Petrovskyi, Kyivskyi and, partially, Leninskyi districts of the city because of the reduced water supply. The delivery of service water has been organized to heating stations with limited water reserves," it said.
Despite problems, two boiler houses were repaired and 18 water mains leaks and 47 sewage leaks were stopped over the past day.
