Tajikistan, Russia agree 2015 oil product import balance at 856,000 tonnes

DUSHANBE. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Russia and Tajikistan have agreed the indicative balance for oil product imports in 2015 at 856,000 tonnes, down from 1 million tonnes in 2014, Tajik Energy and Water Resources Minister Usomnali Usmonzoda told journalists on Friday.

The reduction reflects the fact Tajikistan imported just 581,700 tonnes of oil product from Russia in 2014.

"Five Russian companies have been designated to ensure supplies oof the oil products that Tajikistan requests this year. We plan to receive from Russia no less than the 856,000 tonnes contained in the indicative fuel balance," Usmonzoda said during a press conference.

Tajikistan has also agreed to import more liquefied petroleum gas from Russia to meet the nation's rising demand for that commodity.

According to the balance, Tajikistan will import 260,000 tonnes of gasoline from Russia in 2015 (up from 240,900 tonnes in 2014), 310,000 tonnes of diesel fuel (208,200 tonnes), 46,000 tonnes of fuel oil (183 tonnes), 40,000 tonnes of aviation fuel (38,600 tonnes), 40,000 tonnes of bitumen (40,200 tonnes) and 160,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (31,800 tonnes).

The Russian companies designated to supply the oil products to Tajikistan in 2015 are Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat , Orsknefteorgsintez , Omsk Oil Refinery, TAIF-NK and Angara Petrochemical Company, a source in the Tajik Energy and Water Resources Ministry told Interfax.
