Serbian foreign minister chairing OSCE concerned by escalation of violence in Ukraine

BRUSSELS. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Serbian Foreign Minister and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office Ivica Dacic says he is concerned about the escalation of violence in eastern Ukraine, Serbian media reported on Friday.

"I am deeply concerned about the escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, particularly the use of heavy weapons, including unguided Grad rockets. All parties should respect the cease-fire and immediately stop using heavy weapons in civilian areas," the Serbian news agency Tanjug quoted Dacic as saying.

He called for convening a meeting of the parties that signed the Minsk agreements as soon as possible to discuss ways to overcome the crisis.

"An immediate meeting of all signatories of the Minsk Documents should now be held and each party must pledge to ensure full respect and implementation of the provisions contained in those Documents," Dacic said.
