Israel wishes to sign free trade zone agreement with EEU
MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Israel wishes to sign a free trade zone agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said.
"We are negotiating the formation of a free trade zone, not the accession to the Eurasian Union. We have a [free trade zone] agreement with the European Union and we wish to reach an agreement of the same kind, about a free trade zone, with the Eurasian Union," he said at a press conference in Moscow on Monday.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted Israel's interest in the free trade zone project. "It is quite possible to form this zone if we make a deal [with Israel]," the Russian minister pointed out.
