Russia exports 22 mln tonnes of grain from July 1, 2014, supplies slow down - AgMin
MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Russia exported 22.088 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2014 until January 21, 2015, against 17.024 million tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous agricultural year, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said in materials with reference to Federal Customs Service data.
The agency said that grain exports slowed down. Last week, export growth was 29.7% against 31.6% a week earlier.
A large part of exports, 17.3 million tonnes, was grain. The export of barley accounted for 3.273 million tonnes, corn - 1.195 million tonnes and other crops - 279,000 tonnes.
Prices for Russian wheat for the week (at Black Sea FOB conditions) fell by 2.1% to $231 per tonne.
From February 1, 2015, Russia will introduce an export duty for wheat amounting to 15% of the customs duty plus 7.5 euro, but no less than 35 euro a tonne.
