Group of drug dealers led by officer exposed in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE. Jan 27 (Interfax) - A criminal group, which smuggled Afghan drugs into CIS countries, led by a law enforcement major, has been arrested in Tajikistan, a spokesperson for the country's Drug Control Agency (AKN) said on Tuesday.

"A military service member with the rank of a major has been arrested as he tried to sell drugs. He was in possession of a checkered bag which contained ten duct-taped bags with a green substance of a peculiar odor," the statement said.

The AKN has launched a criminal inquiry into the find.
