Intl demining center in Russia will train foreign experts

MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed instructions on the establishment of an international demining center of the Russian Armed Forces, the government website reported on Tuesday.

In line with the instructions the center will be established as a federal budget-funded institution subordinate to the Defense Ministry.

"The main objectives of the center's operations are to train foreign experts in demining areas or facilities during peacekeeping and humanitarian operations of the United Nations and other international organizations and also experts in demining home-made explosive devices," the posting on the government website says.
