DPR and LPR unruffled by extension of EU sanctions
MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk (DPR) and Luhansk (LPR) People's Republics expressed skepticism over the European Union's decision to extend sanctions against some of the self-proclaimed republics' leaders.
"Indeed, the sanctions have been extended. They did not affect our work in any way previously, do not affect it today and will not do so in the future," DPR Parliament Speaker Andrei Purgin told Interfax.
LPR Parliament Speaker Alexei Koryakin, for his part, also said he was unruffled by the EU's decision.
"We will survive it," he said.
