Ukraine accused of escalating violence to make militia accept unfavorable conditions
DONETSK. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Alexander Zakharchenko, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, believes the reason for the exacerbation of the situation in Donbas is Kyiv's intention to make the DPR sign an agreement on conditions that are unfavorable.
"The Ukrainian military have begun opening fire on residential quarters to make us sign the agreement they want in the Minsk meetings," he told reporters.
