Ukraine cuts steel output 25% in Jan
KYIV. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine reduced crude steel production 25% year-on-year in January to 1.874 million tonnes, the Metallurgprom association told Interfax, quoting preliminary data.
Rolled steel output fell 25% also, to 1.717 million tonnes and pig iron production fell 26% to 1.72 million tonnes.
Steel pipe production dropped by 10% to 78,000 tonnes and coke production fell 39% to 906,000 tonnes.
February production targets are 1.7 million tonnes of crude steel, 1.5 million tonnes of roll and 1.6 million tonnes of pig iron.
