NATO wants to cut Russian personnel at mission to alliance - Lavrov

MUNICH. Feb 7 (Interfax) - The reduction of the Russian diplomatic representation in Russia's mission to NATO would engender new blind spots in relations between Moscow and the alliance, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"A problem is emerging now. Our NATO partners want to cut the physical presence of Russian diplomats in our mission. They are already restricting our access to the headquarters, where we have some premises. Perhaps this would prompt the appearance of new blind spots in our relations and would not help clarify each other's intentions," Lavrov said at the 51st Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

"We are open to the reinstatement of interaction mechanisms, but they all are frozen at the moment," he said.
