Deputy foreign ministers to prepare Feb 11 Normandy summit - source

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Deputy foreign ministers of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will hold a preparatory meeting in Berlin on Monday, February 9, ahead of a possible summit of their countries' leaders in Minsk next Wednesday.

"Such a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow in Berlin at the level deputy foreign ministers," a Russian diplomatic source confirmed to Interfax.

Serious preparations for the possible summit are already underway, he said.

Russia will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin, who in the past few days has been working on the text of a new Ukraine peace plan along with foreign-policy experts from France and Germany, the source said.
