Contact Group to discuss ceasefire, observance of Minsk Memorandum, Donbas status in Minsk Tuesday - source

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - The Contact Group for Ukraine will meet in Minsk on Tuesday to resume the discussion of ceasefire and to develop a mechanism of monitoring the enforcement of the Minsk accords, a source in the organizing committee told Interfax.

"Ceasefire is the main issue, of course. Another issue is a mechanism of monitoring the enforcement of the earlier reached agreements," he said.

"If the dialogue proceeds in a favorable tonality the issue of special status for Donbas could be raised, as well," the source said.

The Kremlin press service reported earlier that the Russian, Ukrainian, German and French leaders agreed by telephone on Sunday to continue drafting comprehensive measures to settle the crisis in southeastern Ukraine at the level of experts in Berlin on February 9. This could be followed by a meeting of the Contact Group to prepare summit talks in the Normandy format in Minsk on February 11.
