Number of refugees from southeastern Ukraine in Rostov region increases
ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Some 40,000 refugees from southeastern Ukraine are currently being accommodated in the Rostov region, the press service for the region's department for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations told Interfax.
"The number of Ukrainian citizens in the region's municipal entities increased by 81 people in the past 24 hours. The number of Ukrainian citizens in temporary accommodation facilities increased by 100 people in the past 24 hours," the department official said.
The source said a total of 39,460 people, including 11,590 children and 443 people with disabilities, are now accommodated in the Rostov region.
The source also said refugees continue to be sent to other regions of Russia. Specifically, 116 citizens of Ukraine were sent to Saratov, Oryol, Ryazan, Saransk, and Yekaterinburg in the past 12 hours.
