Production schedule of Avtovaz to depend on sales volume in 2015 - co. president

SAMARA. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The production schedule of OJSC Avtovaz in 2015 will depend on the volume of current sales, the president of the concern Bo Andersson told journalists.

"If sales fall, then we will have to adjust the production schedule in accordance with orders of consumers. In general, we will act according to the situation," Andersson said.

He said that in the case of the reduction of sales, the company intends to stop working on weekends. "As you see, today conveyor B0 [on which automobiles on the platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance are produced] is not working, instead the lines for the production of Lada Kalina and Lada Granta are working, because there are orders," Andersson said.

He said that in 2015 compared with last year, the number of unsold products in warehouses fell. "In January 2014 there were about 51,000 automobiles in warehouses. At the beginning of 2015 this figure amounted to only 20,000," Andersson said.

OJSC Avtovaz intends to produce 670,000 automobiles in 2015 and increase sales by 20%. In 2014 the auto concern produced 575,100 automobiles (22% less than in 2013) and sold 387,307 car assembly sets, which is 15% less than in 2013.
