Armenia accuses Azerbaijan of obstructing Karabakh negotiations
YEREVAN. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan ignores the calls made by the co-chairmen of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group concerning the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and obstructs progress in negotiations, Armenian Foreign Minister Edvard Naldandyan said.
"The Azeri president's refusal to accept the three main principles of international law proposed by the co-chairmen as the foundation for the settlement of the Karabakh problem indicates that he continues to pursue the policies of maximalism and ignore the calls made by the international community," Naldandyan said during a meeting with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Herbert Salber in Yerevan on Monday.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Naldandyan said Azerbaijan continues to reject the initiatives of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen aimed at strengthening confidence and ceasefire observance, withdrawal of snipers, the creation of mechanisms for investigating incidents and "by his destructive position, obstructs the negotiation process."
