Opposition Bloc proposes to cooperate with EP, Duma on border restoration
KYIV. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The parliamentary faction of the Ukrainian Opposition Bloc Party has suggested setting up a cross-faction group to liaise with the European Parliament (EP) and Russia's State Duma on the question of restoring Ukraine's national borders with support from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
"We are proposing setting up an cross-faction group which would work with the European Parliament and Russia's State Duma and under the OSCE aegis to restore Ukraine's national borders in the areas currently not controlled (by the central government)," faction leader Yury Boiko told the conciliatory council in parliament on Monday.
According to Opposition Bloc representatives, Verkhovna Rada should abandon its radical rhetoric and support the country's president and government in order to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Donbas, Boiko said. "As is proposed by leaders of the leading European countries," he said.
