U.S. hopes anti-Russian measures will incite 'color revolution' in Russia - Russian SC chief

MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - Washington hopes to act out a color revolution in Russia, said secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.

"The U.S. administration hopes that anti-Russian measures will have a negative effect on the population's living standards and incite mass protests, which will provoke Russian citizens to seek regime change with the use of a 'color revolution' scenario," Patrushev said in an interview with the Rossiiskaya Gazeta daily to be published on Wednesday.

"Special attention is being given to measurers to undermine the Russian economy, first of all our country's financial system," he said.

"Importantly, for the first time ever Washington is openly allocating funds in the national budget to counter Russia," Patrushev said.
