IOSCO, Russia to sign cooperation memorandum expediting Central Bank investigations
MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax) - The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) has approved signing the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMOU) covering financial market cooperation with Russia.
"IOSCO has approved signing the MMOU with Russia on financial market cooperation," First Deputy Governor Sergei Shvetsov said at a meeting of the Central Bank's expert council on the financial competency of non-bank organizations. He did not disclose the agreement signing date.
By signing the MMOU, Russia will be able to exchange information needed for law enforcement with the bodies regulating securities markets in all countries with developed financial markets, and Russia would not necessarily have to separately conclude bilateral agreements with regulators in individual countries, Russian National Association of Securities Market Participants (NAUFOR) CEO Alexei Timofeyev told Interfax.
