Sberbank drops 505 mln rubles in claims against Mechel

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - Sberbank has dropped claims of 504.7 million rubles against members of the Mechel coal and steel group.

The amount, including principal debt of 453.7 million rubles and interest of 51 million rubles, has been repaid, an Interfax correspondent reports from the court.

The respondents are OJSC Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant , OJSC Mechel, LLC Mechel Trans, LLC Mechel Service and LLC Bratsk Ferroalloys.

The court has not yet accepted the decision to withdraw the claims and has adjourned until February 13 to examine the payments.

Sberbank is claiming 508.6 million rubles from the aforementioned entities.

OJSC Mechel Mining and OJSC Beloretsk Metallurgical Combine are co-respondents.

Mechel was $6.9 billion in debt as of December 1, 2014. VTB , Sberbank and Gazprombank were owned 68% of this. Mechel is in debt restructuring talks with these banks.
