Gazprom, CNPC agree on Power of Siberia's crossing place on the Amur River
MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - Gazprom and CNPC have agreed on a location for the trans-border section of the Power of Siberia - the underwater crossing across the Amur River and the technical requirements for engineering surveys for its detailed design.
Gazprom's press service said in a statement that on Thursday Gazprom chief Alexei Miller held a meeting about the progress of the implementation of the company's investment projects connected with gas supplies to China along the Eastern route.
It was noted that during the development of the Chayanda field, all the necessary materials and equipment were purchased for the start of construction of production facilities for the oil rim. Preparation for the start of drilling wells is underway, including the delivery of drilling rigs. The construction of a river cargo terminal is underway in Peledui, as is an infield road and access roads to the well pads. The design of production facilities for the gas deposits of the Chayanda field is being completed. The construction of the Power of Siberia trunk gas pipeline is continuing. In particular, the pipeline's route is being cleared, sites for line operations bases and a rotators' camp in Lensk are being prepared.
With account of the strategic significance and the strict timeframes for the implementation of the projects, the meeting participants paid special attention to the organization of the material and technical supplies. In 2014, 135,800 tonnes of cargo, including 122,500 tonnes of large-diameter pipe was shipped through the single logistics center in Ust-Kut for the Chayanda field and the Power of Siberia pipeline. This year this figure will increase, it is planned to supply about 500,000 tonnes of various cargo.
The basis for the creation of the Yakutsk gas production center is the Chayanda oil and gas condensate field. With full development at the field, 25 billion cubic meters of gas and no less than 1.5 million tonnes of oil will be produced annually. The start of production of gas at the field is planned for the end of 2018. By this time operations will be launched at the high priority section of the Power of Siberia truck pipeline from the Chayanda field to Blagoveshchensk (2,200 kilometers) and at high-priority gas processing facilities.
