Pulkovo Airport sees passenger traffic grow 4% in Jan

ST. PETERSBURG. Feb 13 (Interfax) - St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport handled 872,485 passengers in January 2015, 4% more than a year earlier, Northern Capital Gateway LLC, which manages the airport, said in a statement.

The airport handled 369,629 passengers on international flights and 502,856 passengers on domestic flights, respectively 12.1% fewer and 21% more year-on-year.

The most popular Russian destinations from Pulkovo Airport in January were Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad, Simferopol and Krasnodar, while the most popular international destinations were Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh, Frankfurt, Munich and Kyiv.

It was reported earlier that the airport expects to handle 15 million passengers in 2015.

Pulkovo was put under the management of Northern Capital Gateway, the concession holder for the airport's reconstruction, in the spring of 2010. The first phase of the project cost 1.2 billion euros.
