Investigative Committee denies rumors of prompt release of Savchenko
MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian servicewoman Nadezhda Savchenko, who was arrested on suspicion of abetting the murder of Russian journalists, cannot be released from custody because the investigators have evidence of her guilt, Vladimir Markin from the Investigative Committee said.
"All rumors about some upcoming release of defendant Savchenko are ungrounded," Markin told Interfax on Friday.
Markin said that "Savchenko is held in a detention facility as a person charged with an especially grave crime."
