Up to 100 Ukrainian soldiers killed in past 24 hours - Donetsk militia
DONETSK. Feb 13 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army has lost up to 100 soldiers in the past 24 hours, says Eduard Basurin, a senior official spokesman for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"The Ukrainian army lost up to 100 soldiers killed in the past 24 hours; in all, 2,536 have been killed since the hostilities resumed. DPR losses over the past 24 hours: two killed, 17 injured," he told reporters on Friday evening.
He also said that since this morning militias have countered four attempts by Ukrainian troops to break through towards Lohvynove. "Having lost in fighting two tanks, nine IFVs and about 30 people killed and injured, the Ukrainian troops retreated to the initial positions," Basurin said.
Also, in the early hours of Friday a DPR reconnaissance group destroyed a group of Ukrainian troops who tried to bring weapons.
