Poroshenko: Kyiv's Western partners confirm concentration of Russian military hardware

KYIV. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has confirmed that Kyiv's Western partners have information on the concentration of Russian military hardware on the border with Ukraine.

"Our partners and friends, using their own intelligence, confirm not only the presence of Russian tanks, multiple rocket launchers, and armored personnel carriers near Debaltseve and in other places, but they also acknowledge concentration of new shipments of Russian military hardware on the border, which is ready to invade our native land through border segments we so far don't control," Poroshenko said at a ceremony of transferring new hardware to Ukrainian border guards in Kyiv on Saturday.

A number of high-ranking Russian officials have repeatedly denied allegations of involvement of Russian military servicemen in the conflict in Donbas over the past several months. In particular, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a recent press conference in Moscow that the allegations about the presence of Russian troops in southeastern Ukraine were baseless.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov yet again denied allegations by Ukrainian military officials that Russian troops were fighting among the militia in late January.
