Russia from July 1, 2014 to Feb 11, 2015 boosts grain exports by almost 32%
MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - From July 1, 2014 until February 11, 2015, Russia exported 23.616 million tonnes of grain, which is 31.6% more than in the same period of the previous agricultural year.
The Russian Agriculture Ministry, with reference to operating data of the Federal Customs Service (FCS), said that a significant portion of exports was wheat - 18.557 million tonnes, of which 80%-85% was food wheat.
The export of barley amounted to 3.473 million tonnes, corn was 1.272 million tonnes and other crops - 314,000 tonnes.
From February 1 until February 11, 296,000 tonnes of grain were exported including wheat - 87,000 tonnes, barley - 136,000 tonnes, corn - 51,000 tonnes and other crops - 22,000 tonnes.
Grain market experts said that after the introduction on February 1 of export duties on wheat (15% of the customs value plus 7.5 euro, but no less than 35 euro per tonne) the share of wheat in exports will fall, the share of barley and corn will increase.
