Russian Navy ships hold live fire practice in Mediterranean

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The Ladny frigate and the Yamal landing ship of the Black Sea Fleet attached to the Russian Navy task force permanently deployed in the Mediterranean, practiced artillery fire on seaborne and airborne targets on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The task force flagship, the Northern fleet Severomorsk destroyer, and the Baltic Fleet Alexander Shabalin landing ship also fired at the targets installed in eastern part of the Mediterranean," says a ministry report seen by Interfax-AVN on Monday.

The targets were installed by the Northern Fleet SB-406 tugboat.

"Ships attached to the Navy task force continue the fulfillment of their missions in the designated area of the Mediterranean Sea," the report said.
