DPR to detain Ukrainian servicemen involved in crimes in Debaltseve
MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian servicemen involved in crimes in Debaltseve will be seized and those who choose to lay down their arms will be let go, Eduard Basurin, a senior official of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Defense Ministry, said.
"Those who surrender will be given a chance to leave, as the head of the republic has promised, and we will not advertize who because we do not want their families and friends to get hurt. They can leave and they will not be moved either to Luhansk or to Donetsk," Basurin said in a program aired by the Rossiya-24 television channel.
"But if any servicemen are involved in acts of atrocities, they will be detained and subjected to investigative procedures," he said.
