NATO rather than Russia poses threat to Baltic countries - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has rejected British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon's allegation that Russia poses a threat to the Baltic countries.

"It is the North Atlantic bloc that poses threats that we have to take into account in our military planning and which are quite realistic," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

"Countries accepting assistance from the alliance do not deny it that this all is done to counter a mythical Russian threat, which has never existed," Lukashevich said.
