Colonel in charge of army withdrawal is last to leave Debaltseve
KYIV. Feb 19 (Interfax) - The head of the Sector C headquarters, Colonel "Taran," who is in charge of the Ukrainian troop withdrawal from Debaltseve, has told Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that he was the last one to leave the city, Poroshenko's spokesman Svyatoslav Tseholko said.
"I was the last to leave, while controlling the organized exit of our troops from Debaltseve," he told Poroshenko by phone, according to Tseholko's Facebook post on Thursday.
The president had phoned the colonel to thank him for his courage and heroism.
