Donetsk militias accuse Kyiv of reluctance to reach peace
MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The signing of a defense cooperation contract between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates shows that Ukraine sees no peaceful resolution to the conflict, says Mikhail Mnukhin, first deputy foreign minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"Against the backdrop of the signed Minsk agreements, these actions by the Ukrainian authorities are bewildering. Ukraine thus demonstrates that it sees no peaceful resolution to the conflict," Mnukhin said in a commentary issued on Tuesday.
While the DPR forces are removing all their heavy weapons from the frontline, as was agreed upon in Minsk, "the Ukrainian authorities are accumulating firepower," the ministry said.
On Tuesday the chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, Viktor Muzhenko, signed a document on military-technical cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in the presence of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
The first delivery of UAE defense products has already arrived: the armored vehicles which helped reinforce the Ukrainian army, Poroshenko said.
On February 23-24 Poroshenko is in the UAE on an informal visit, where he has attended the international defense exhibition IDEX-2015. Muzhenko is also in the delegation.
