Farmers to have 20%-30% discount on mineral fertilizer prices compared with export prices - Medvedev

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Mineral fertilizer prices for farmers will be fixed at the level of January-February 2015, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on the stable functioning of the agriculture industry.

He added that farmers would have a 20%-30% discount from export prices.

"We recently agreed that prices would be fixed at January and February figures for various groups of regions, and the discount itself will be somewhere between 20% and 30% off the export price," Medvedev said.

He added that it was necessary to fix prices and "monitor what's going on."

Medvedev said that prices for the most popular types of mineral fertilizers due to the fluctuations of the ruble rose within 11%-40%, in connection with which the level of providing farmers with fertilizers is worse than last year.
