No revision in pace of natural monopoly tariff indexation planned - Econ Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - There are no plans to revise the pace of indexation of the tariffs the natural monopolies charge, Deputy Economic Development Minister Nikolai Podguzov told journalists when asked whether the natural monopolies had requested an increase in indexation.

"This is a fundamental position: the investment programs must be optimized, taking into account those tariff decisions that were approved previously," Podguzov said.

Asked whether the natural monopolies had submitted any written requests to revise the indexation schedule given higher inflation, Podguzov said he hadn't seen any. "It seems to me that there is more or less an understanding [that there will be no revision]. So why write a letter?" Podguzov said.
