No confirmation of plans to change status of FMS
MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The Federal Migration Service (FMS) hopes to remain a separate agency.
"I have no information to prove the drawing up of any normative acts that could change the status of the FMS," First Deputy Head of the FMS Yekaterina Yegorova told Interfax on Friday.
A number of media outlets reported earlier that the FMS and the Federal Drug Control Service might be abolished and some of their units might be attached to the Interior Ministry. The reports have not been confirmed.
The Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) has also refuted plans of its abolition.
