Shuvalov may replace Siluanov as head of financial stability council - Kommersant

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russia is poised to raise the status of the National Council on Ensuring Financial Stability that was formed in the summer of 2013, the business daily Kommersant reported.

First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov will be named to replace Finance Minister Anton Siluanov as the council's head, according to a government resolution, the newspaper said.

In addition, a secretariat of the council will be formed, which will include the deputy head of Shuvalov's secretariat, Yury Gazaryan, the head of the Central Bank's financial stability department Sergei Moiseyev, and the director of the Finance Ministry's long-term planning department Maxim Oreshkin. Moiseyev currently serves as the council's executive secretary.

The council will also get three new members: Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev and presidential aide Andrei Belousov.
