Five Uzbeks fighting with rebels killed in Syria
TASHKENT. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Five citizens of Uzbekistan who fought with rebels in Syria have been killed over the past month, Uzbek media reported on Saturday.
"Three of the killed were natives of the Ferghana valley. Two others were from the Tashkent region," the media reported.
According to the reports, the five went abroad to work but then they suddenly disappeared. Later their relatives were notified of their death.
Uzbek media reported citing an Iraqi expert that leaders of the Islamic State usually send recruited Uzbeks to the most dangerous cites without any training that is why they are killed shortly after they come to Syria.
