Pushkov: absence of fire in Donetsk - achievement of Minsk accords
MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Head of the State Duma International Affairs' Committee Alexei Pushkov regards the calm situation in Donetsk where no fire has been registered as the main result of the Minsk accords.
"There is no fire in Donetsk now. This is the main result of the Minsk accords. U.S. arms deliveries to Kyiv can again push it to war," he twitted on Sunday.
Earlier the Donetsk city administration reported a calm atmosphere in the city with no sounds of shooting. The Ukrainian military said they did not register any fire from the militia side on March 1.
Reports at the beginning of February said that the White House was considering the possibility of transferring Javelin antitank systems, small arms and ammunition to Ukraine. U.S. President Barack Obama has not made a final decision on deliveries of lethal armaments to the Ukrainian military yet.
