Donetsk republic ends arms withdrawal - militia spokesman
DONETSK. March 1 (Interfax) - The militia in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic have removed 26 artillery groups from the contact line, the republic's militia spokesman Eduard Basurin told the press on Sunday.
"In all, 26 artillery groups have been withdrawn. Five artillery groups, seven pieces each, were removed yesterday. This marks the end of the arms pullout. There are no more artillery systems left at the contact line," Basurin said.
A report on arms withdrawal and on the sites where the weapons are now located has been referred to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, he said.
Basurin again blamed Kyiv for removing the weapons to a shorter distance than agreed.
"The Donetsk republic's military reconnaissance has uncovered new sites within the 20-30 kilometer zone where Ukrainian weapons are located. This allows the Ukrainian side to move them back to position within just one or two hours," Basurin said.
