Negotiations on Iranian nuclear program are constructive - Lavrov
GENEVA. March 2 (Interfax) - The negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program are going constructively, which is a hopeful factor for strengthening the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Among the hopeful factors in the context of the strengthening of the NPT regime, I will call the negotiations on the settlement of the situation with the Iranian nuclear program constructive," Lavrov said at a conference on disarmament in Geneva on Monday.
"We are doing everything to promote their successful and timely completion, seeking agreements that will be firmly based on the principles of the NPT and the best IAEA practices," Lavrov said.
