Russian, Belarusian leaders to discus negative economic trends

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Russia and Belarus are to discuss cooperation amidst the economic crisis at an upcoming session of the Supreme State Council (SSC) of the Russia-Belarus Union State.

"The key focus will be on economic cooperation, including the joint efforts to overcome the negative trends in the two countries' economies," Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said ahead of the SSC session,

The parties are planning "to approve a policy document "On the medium-term priorities and objectives of further development of the Union State," he said.

"At the SSC session the economic ministries agreed upon a plan of measures to enhance trade and economic cooperation, which is essentially a joint anti-crisis plan, and tonight it must be further polished and approved by the first deputy prime ministers," Ushakov said

The two countries will also discuss a bloc of issues related to the Union budget and approve the one for 2015 in the amount of 4.8 billion Russian rubles, he said.

The session attendees will endorse new heads of the Union State Border Committee.

The agenda consists of eleven issues, including the results of the trade and economic cooperation, a budget performance report for the current period and others, Ushakov said.

The two countries are also expected to sign four bilateral documents aimed at improving cooperation on migration and social issues. The two governments will also sign an agreement on mutual enforcement of alimony court orders.
