Karabakh reports death of its serviceman

YEREVAN/BAKU. March 3 (Interfax) - A serviceman of the Defense Army of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was killed in an Azeri gunfire attack early on Tuesday morning, a source in the Karabakh Defense Ministry told Interfax.

The Azeri army committed about 200 violations of the ceasefire regime on Monday and early on Tuesday morning; they were using 60mm mortars and RPG-7 grenade launchers amongst other weapons, he said.

"Twenty-year-old serviceman Arsen Karapetian suffered a mortal injury in an attack on an army position. The frontline units of the Karabakh Defense Army suppressed the hostile fire," he said.

In turn, the Azeri Defense Ministry accused Armenian servicemen of 66 ceasefire violations over the past 24 hours and said that hostile fire was suppressed.

The situation worsened in the Karabakh conflict zone in fall 2014. The sides are trading ceasefire breach accusations daily.
