Ukrainian army accuses militia of not fulfilling Minsk deal
KYIV. March 3 (Interfax) - The armed units operating in eastern Ukraine are not fulfilling the Minsk deal, which requires withdrawing armaments from the contact line, spokesman for the army operation staff Andriy Lysenko said.
The forces opposed to the Ukrainian army "are constantly moving their armaments and military hardware from the contact line to the Russian border and back. They are demonstrating the pullback of heavy armaments, which is not actually happening," Lysenko said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) confirms the non-fulfillment of the Minsk accords, he said. "Separatists from the so-called LPR are barring mission monitors from the locations of heavy armaments withdrawn from the line of contact," Lysenko said.
The OSCE SMM said earlier today that it was unable to verify the pullout of heavy armaments by the conflicting sides in eastern Ukraine.
