Lukoil expecting growth in gasoline prices to not exceed inflation in 2015

KSTOVO, Nizhny Novgorod region. March 3 (Interfax) - Lukoil is planning that the rise in the prices for gasoline in Russia in 2015 will not exceed inflation, Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov told journalists on a working visit to Kstovo on Tuesday.

"We are making every effort, including by introducing new installations, in order to maintain the price for fuel on the territory of the Russian Federation. It [the growth of prices for fuel] will not exceed inflation or will even be lower than the inflation that was planned for 2015," he said.

Alekperov said the tax maneuver, which entered into force starting in 2015, envisages the growth of the tax burden on oil refiners and Lukoil for now has not compensated for this in its prices for fuel.

"We all understand that this tax maneuver, which came into force on January 1, envisages the sharp growth of the tax burden on oil refineries and on the produced products. That is, the excise policy has changed: in addition to what is planned for the tax, another ruble was added with the purpose of creating a road fund for Russia. We have not compensated for this ruble yet. That is, the growth in prices [on Lukoil products] has been 48 kopecks since the start of the year," the company president said.
