VTB gives Mechel one month to settle debt before filing bankruptcy case
MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - VTB will go to court in a month to seek Mechel's bankruptcy, but before doing so, it sees opportunities for a constructive dialogue to settle the metallurgy giant's debt, the bank's press service told Interfax.
VTB notified Mechel's creditors through the media on Saturday that it planned to go to court to file against the company's bankruptcy.
"After publishing notification in the media today, VTB will go to an arbitration court at the place of Mechel's registration. During this time, VTB sees an opportunity for a constructive dialogue between the creditors and the Mechel company with the aim of settling the debt by the metallurgy company," it said.
