Putin to visit Kazakhstan on March 12-13
MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited by his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev, to visit Astana on March 12-13 to attend a meeting of the leaders of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, the Kremlin press office said on Monday.
"The parties are going to discuss the status and development prospects for trade and economic cooperation between the three countries, the Eurasian integration process in light of modern trends in the world economy. The three leaders are also expected to exchange their views on pressing international issues, primarily the situation in Ukraine," the press office said.
"During his visit Putin is also due to hold a bilateral meeting with Nazarbayev," the spokesman said.
For its part, the Kazakh president's press office said that Alexander Lukashenko, Putin and Nazarbayev are due to meet in Astana on March 13.
The heads of state are expected to discuss further trade and economic cooperation between the three countries, the press office said. "In addition, the presidents will discuss development of global economic trends, as well as the situation in Ukraine," the Kazakh president's press office said.
