Ukraine completes fourth stage of weaponry removal - official
KYIV. March 9 (Interfax) - Ukraine has completed four stages of heavy weaponry removal, but will not pull them back entirely unless it receives confirmation of the enemy having done the same, military operation spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.
"Ukraine has completed four stages of the heavy weaponry removal under the monitoring by OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) representatives and in the presence of Ukrainian and foreign reporters. We are expecting the same step from the enemy, but we have yet to obtain confirmation of him too having removed its heavy weapons," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
"We are not going to simply expose our front edge completely. We are now waiting for the enemy to prove that he, too, removed his heavy weapons to certain areas," Lysenko said.
Meanwhile, Donetsk and Luhansk militias announced a few days ago that they had completed the removal of heavy weapons from the contact line. Moreover, militias claimed to have removed even those weapons that were not stipulated in the Minsk agreements.
