Russia in July 1, 2014-March 4, 2015 boosts grain exports by almost 30% to 24.7 mln tonnes - AgMin
MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Russia in this agricultural year (from July 1, 2014 until March 4, 2015) has exported 24.7 million tonnes of grain, which is 29.7% more than in the same period of the previous agricultural year, the Agriculture Ministry said with reference to Federal Customs Service data.
The main export, 18.982 million tonnes was wheat. In addition, 3.775 million tonnes of barley, 1.595 million tonnes of corn and 355,000 tonnes of other crops were exported.
In February exports amounted to 1.23 million tonnes, of which 461,000 tonnes were wheat, 410,000 tonnes - barley and 302,000 tonnes were corn.
From March 1-4, 156,000 tonnes of grain were exported, including wheat - 51,000 tonnes, barley - 27,000 tonnes, corn - 73,000 tonnes and other crops - 5,000 tonnes.
According to a forecast by the Russian Agriculture Ministry, grain exports for the agricultural year (that is, through June 30, 2015) will be 28.5 million tonnes.
