EBRD may provide up to 120 mln euro to Agri Europe subsidiaries in Ukraine, Serbia
KYIV. March 10 (Interfax) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) may provide a loan of up to 120 million euro to Agri Europe subsidiaries in Ukraine and Serbia.
The financing would include a syndicated loan of up to 109 million euro for Agri Europe Serbia and up to 11 million euro for Agri Europe Ukraine. The project is scheduled to be examined on April 8.
The proceeds would go to strengthen the holding's balance sheet and diversify its operations, particularly meat processing and development of cooperation with farms and suppliers, and financing of a greenfield apply orchard in Serbia.
Agri Europe is a large diversified agribusiness group which consolidates sugar, meat processing, trading and farming businesses, mainly in Serbia and a smaller investment in Ukraine, AgroInvest, which has 30,000 hectares of land in Kyiv, Vinnytsya, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions and 174,000 tonnes of elevator capacity.
