U.S. to deliver nonlethal weapons to Ukraine, including drones and radar - Poroshenko's press service

KYIV. March 11 (Interfax) - The United States will provide Ukraine with additional nonlethal assistance in the sphere of security.

The press service of the Ukrainian president says that during a telephone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko "was thankful for the additional nonlethal U.S. security assistance to Ukraine, namely drones, communication systems, radar for determining mortar and artillery positions, night vision devices and other means with a total coast of $75 million as well as 230 military vehicles."

Poroshenko told Biden about the situation in Donbas.

Biden informed him about the U.S. decision to impose additional sanctions against individuals and organizations violating Ukraine's sovereignty, the press service said.

The sides discussed further possible sanctions against Russia.

Poroshenko and Biden also discussed the question of increasing and reinforcing the OSCE monitoring mission and intensifying the process of involving a peacekeeping mission in settling the situation in Donbas.
